77 Year Old Man To Stand Trial For Molesting Two Young Girls

A Sea Lots man has been committed to stand trial in the Port of Spain High Court after he was charged for multiple sexual offences against two girls, ages six and seven.

The matter began with a preliminary hearing into the charges on June 5th last year in the Port of Spain 7th Magistrates' Court.

Magistrate Adia Mohammed heard the case against 77 year old taxi driver Neville Richards, and sent him to be tried.

Richards was remanded into custody, pending the securing of $150,000 bail with surety.

The accused came into contact with the two little girls after being hired by their parents to transport them to their Primary School.

It is alleged the offences against the girls were committed sometime between June 1st and June 30th 2016.

Richards was charged by WPC Makeda Edwards of the Child Protection Unit, Port of Spain Division, on Monday 5th July, 2016
