Advanced Investigations Into Shootings Of Prison Officers

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi has confirmed that advanced investigations are taking in place in relation to two cases involving shootings at officers of the Prison Service.

The Attorney General said, however, that the revelation that prison officers were indeed being targeted had taken the spotlight from another issue - that of corruption behind the prison walls.

At a Joint Press Conference on Monday, Prison Commissioner, William Alexander, and Acting Police Commissioner, Stephen Williams, said there was evidence to prove that prison officers were being targeted by criminal elements.
