A 66 year old Pharmacist has appeared alongside a 27 year old Morvant man jointly charged with three counts of rape and robbery in one of the more sordid matters heard in court on Tuesday.

Ramnath Ramdhan, of Bayshore, San Fernando, and his employee, Akeem Worrel, answered the charges before Port of Spain Magistrate Adia Mohammed.

Ramdhan faces two additional charges of grievous sexual assault.

It's alleged that the victims of Ramdhan and Worrel were robbed and subsequently raped at gunpoint at his business place after responding to job vacancy ads in the newspapers.

It is alleged that upon responding to the ads and turning up for an interview, the women would be accosted by a gunman at the business, and robbed of valuables.

The gunman would then order them to commit sexual acts with Ramdhan.

Ramdhan stands accused of masterminding both incidents.

He was placed on bail in the amount of $350,000.

The matter was adjourned to December 5th.
