Over 2,000 households affected by recent floods have so far been visited and assessed to receive funding.
Data from the Ministry of Social Development showed that the largest number of households visited so far had been in the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation. The Ministry says it visited 950 households in that Corporation.
The next highest came from Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo where 651 households were visited, followed by Penal/Debe where Ministry officials visited 425 households.
Other areas still being assessed are Rio Claro, Princes Town, Sangre Grande and San Juan/Laventille.
The Ministry said assessments are still being conducted daily, and it is actively working on processing cheques for households deemed eligible for assistance to replace household appliances and furniture destroyed by the flooding.
