Agriculture Minister Clarence Rambharat says more training is needed for people in the food industry.

The Minister was speaking at a Public Consultation on Monday, as his Ministry prepares to draft a Food Safety Policy Framework.

He said from manufacturing to packaging, more care needs to be given to food preparation.

He identified labelling, advertising, and discarding of food as other areas that need attention.

The Ministry is also looking at how it deals with product recall, reminding that only in March this year there was a recall of corned beef imported from Brazil.
