Action Needed To Eradicate Malaria

More needs to be done to create policies to wipe out mosquito-borne diseases and stop the spread of malaria.

This, from Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh as he addressed a Stakeholder Retreat to establish a Southern Caribbean Centre for Health Policy and Systems Research at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.

Minister Deyalsingh said diseases such as malaria, which is a mosquito-borne disease caused by a parasite, continue to affect the Caribbean and surrounding countries.

He said the time has come to focus on why and how these insects continue to plague the region.
