THA Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles and Secretary of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment, Kwesi Des Vignes, will leave the country for a sponsored trip to China on Monday.

In a news release sent early on Monday, the Chief Secretary's Public Affairs Specialist, Avian Parks, said the two will attend the China-Latin America and the Caribbean (CLAC) International Exposition in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China.

The Chief Secretary was invited by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to attend the event, which is hosted by the China Chamber of International Commerce and organised by the Zhuhai Municipal People's Government.

CLAC intends to promote economic and trade cooperation between China and Latin America and Caribbean countries, as well as promote comprehensive and cooperative partnership on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and common development.

The release added that this exposition is an opportunity for the THA to become part of the ongoing process of trade cooperation.
