The Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Financial Units of Sri Lanka and Cuba.

The signing took place on Friday in Argentina and was witnessed by Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Faris Al Rawi.

The FIU Act provides the Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago with the mandate to enter into MOUs with foreign FIUs.

The Ministry of the Attorney General says the Memorandum of Understanding allows the FIUTT to exchange information securely and enhance networking and cooperation with foreign FIUs in the fight against money launderers, financiers of terrorism and other criminal organisations.
