Government Vehicles To Be Hybrid Or Fuelled By CNG By 2020

Government is hoping to see all fleet vehicles being either CNG or hybrid by the year 2020. This according to Energy Minister Franklin Khan, who made the statement during the opening of the NP Diego Martin on Tuesday. 

Minister Khan said "in keeping with the Government's strategy for the wider implementation of CNG as a major vehicular transportation fuel, Government has agreed to the implementation by December 2020 of a programme for the 30% conversion of vehicles in the fleet of Government and State Enterprises".

Additionally, Government has agreed that commencing October 1st 2018 and within 12 months of fiscal 2019 all new acquisitions of fleet vehicles in Government will be either CNG or hybrid".
