Bankers Told To Make Public Aware Of Changes To Their Systems

A call is being made for bankers to ensure while changes are being made to their system, the public is made aware how to use it.

This call comes from Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Alvin Hilaire, who says transparency is a must.

Dr. Hilaire addressed the Bankers Association of Trinidad & Tobago's 20th Anniversary and Launch of their Code of Banking Practice, which outlines measures aimed at improving the relationship between customers and the banking industry.

He said while there are challenges in the banking industry, technology is changing and everyone must be up to date.

Meanwhile President of BATT, Anya Schnoor, called for upgrades to be made to the banking legislation in Trinidad and Tobago. She said these changes will improve how local banks do business internationally.
