The Dominican woman whose body was found in a fire in St. Joseph on Monday was murdered.

An autopsy on Wednesday revealed that 30 year old Chriss Brewster's throat was slit from ear to ear.

She was a mother of two, and a graduate of the University of the Southern Caribbean.

Her remains were found in her ground floor apartment at a two-storey house in Maracas-St. Joseph which had been set on fire.

The owner of the house, 88 year old Peter Felix, who was bedridden, died of asphyxia consistent with smoke inhalation.

Police are treating his death also as murder.

No one has yet been held but investigations are continuing.
