The implementation of the CARIFORUM - EU Economic Partnership Agreement is of critical importance to Trinidad and Tobago.

The Agreement seeks to make trade between CARIFORUM and the EU easier.

The EU's trade and development partnership with the Caribbean stretches back over more than 30 years. In October 2008, 15 Caribbean nations signed with the EU the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.

Trinidad and Tobago is currently hosting the third meeting of the CARIFORUM-EU Parliamentary Committee where they will discuss the status of ratification of the CARIFORUM EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
