The Joint Consultative Council for the Construction Industry is wondering where the State is finding money to fund new projects, when it still owes the industry over $1 billion for works already completed, certified, and audited by the present Government.

It comes as the Council expressed concern over the possible awarding of a $436 million contract to Namalco by the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited, and a $400 million contract to Kall Co.

The JCC says it is public knowledge that the State has initiated legal action against five companies, including Namalco and Kall Co, and is questioning whether there is disparity between the legal arm of the State and the implementation arm.

The JCC is calling for NIDCO's performance ratings of both companies to be made public.
