Prison Officers Association President, Cerron Richards, is defending a voice note circulated via social media.

He is saying he did not make a call for prison officers to stay away from work, but he simply made a prediction that officers would not be at work.

According to sources, the officers did fulfill the prediction at the Maximum Security Prison on the weekend, as many officers who were on shift did not get relief and were forced to work double shifts.

The POA engaged in a meeting at their Railway road offices on Monday evening to discuss matters affecting them.
