The Speaker of the House of Representatives has ordered a ban on two people who were in the public gallery during Thursday's Senate sitting from entering the building.

Maxine Gonzales and Robert Sagramsingh will not be admitted into the precincts of the Parliament, including the Chamber.

This follows an outburst from the public gallery which took place while the Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Allyson West, was wrapping up debate in the Senate on the 2018 budget.

The ruling by the Speaker is pursuant to Section 6(1) of the House of Representatives Powers and Privileges Act and Standing Order 123.

It also empowers any police office employed by the Office of the Parliament to directly, and through the Office of the Marshall, withdraw the persons in the photograph from the precincts of the Parliament to ensure compliance with the order.
