Traffic was backed up heading into Port of Spain on Friday morning due to a depression in the middle lane before the lighthouse, westbound into Port of Spain.

The Ministry of Works and Transport is further advising motorists to use alternative routes into Port of Spain.

The ministry says it has contacted the relevant authorities to assist in returning the lane to its normal operation in the shortest amount of time.

C News spoke with the water and sewerage authority and it was confirmed the depression was as a result of a ruptured water line.
