Joseph Remy on Labour Policy

The President of the Communications Workers Union- Joseph Remy says...all trade union leaders should be involved in the formation of labor related policy.

Speaking on CTV's morning programme, Mr. Remy said...the current system allows government to establish policies without consultation- an act he believes places workers at a disadvantage.

Mr. Remy said, one of the main labour issues that is yet to be treated with, is the over abundance of contract workers. He proposed that re-establishing permanent work agreements will have a positive effect on the economy.

He said, workers must also take steps to better understand the trade union concept, so they can make the best of their representation.
