A Sport Director of the Tobago House of Assembly has been granted $150,000 bail after he was charged in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct.

Peter Granville, a Director of Playing Fields in the Division of Education Youth Affairs and Sports and former Coach of Tobago United, was charged with grievous sexual assault and sex without consent against a woman.

He appeared at the Scarborough Magistrates' Court on Friday morning, however the media wasn't invited to hear the case. He was not called upon to plea as the charges were indictable.

Granville was placed on $150,000 bail with surety with Clerk of the Peace approval. He was also ordered not to make any contact with the victim.

It's alleged that the THA Sport official beat and raped a woman following the PNM Sports and Family Day last Sunday.
