Prison officer in court on Misbehaviour charge

A 26 year old prison officer with four years’ service is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Tuesday.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the prison officer was charged with misbehaviour in public office, following instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.

The charge came following the discovery that keys belonging to the Port of Spain prison had gone missing on June 2nd, 2016.

Inspector Desmond Wilson of the Criminal Investigations Department was expected to lay the charge on Monday.

The accused will appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Tuesday.
