The Rio Claro Vedic School has been shut down with immediate effect.

The School Board of Management says it took the decision based on the lack of action by the Education Ministry on the alleged behaviour of the leadership team within the school.

In a statement, it said it tried to resolve the concerns over the past two years, but it didn't work.

It noted the unacceptable behaviour has diminished the performance, reputation of the school and brought the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Trinidad into disrepute.

This decision of the Board was taken after its expectations of having followed all levels of protocol to spur the relevant authorities to act in a timely and responsible manner did not materialise.

It went on to say while the Board understands the decision will be inconvenient to its primary stakeholders, management cannot allow the situation to continue.
