On behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and on my own behalf, I wish to extend to you sincere congratulations on the victory of the United Workers Party (UWP) under your leadership, in the General Elections of June 6, 2016.

The keenly contested elections is testimony to the vibrant democracy which exists in Saint Lucia and exhibits the faith that the people have placed in you and in the vision which you have enunciated for your country.

I wish you the greatest success as you embark on your inaugural term in office and lead Saint Lucia on the path to further growth, development and prosperity.

I wish to reaffirm the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to strengthen further the bonds of friendship that have traditionally existed between our two countries and look forward to working with you towards the pursuit of our bilateral and regional interests.
