SRP's home firebombed

The home of a Special Reserve Police officer in Gran Couva is suspected to have been deliberately set on fire in the wee hours of Thursday.

SRP Reynold Charles and two female relatives escaped unhurt.

According to police, Mr. Charles, of Frasal Road in Gran Couva, his 54 year old mother, Patricia Jycerie, and his aunt, 53 year old Evelyn Antoo, were asleep at home when they were awakened by explosions at around 1:15am.

Upon checking, they found their house engulfed in flames.

A vehicle parked in the yard was also on fire.

Fire officers responded and extinguished the blaze.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
