Special Branch Police seize ‘Apparatus’

At around 9:15am on Thursday 9th June, 2016, Special Branch Officers stationed at the security checkpoint towards the residence of the Prime Minister, at La Fantasie Road, St Anns, stopped the male driver of a station wagon vehicle that was proceeding along the driveway to the compound of the residence.

The driver was found to be in possession of an apparatus, commonly known as a ‘grinder’ which contained a small quantity of loose plant like material, resembling that of marijuana.

The object was seized and investigations are being pursued to prefer charges against the individual.

The individual is employed with a contracting company engaged in barbed wire fencing on the compound of the residence.
