Locals React To World Cup Finals

We may be over seven thousand miles away from the host of this year's World Cup - Russia but that did not stop fans of the beautiful game locally from celebrating the World Cup Finals between France and Croatia on Sunday.

Cameraman Joel Phillip and reporter Kent Fuentes were at MovieTowne to take in the action.

The Defence Force and Central FC will battle for a place in the First Citizens Cup finals.

The Army defeated Morvant Caledonia by four goals to nil while the Central needed penalties to get past Police FC.

Winning seven - six to advance to the championship game.

Flow Secondary Schools Cricket League Awards

Shernelle Seau was named Flow Girls Secondary Schools Cricket League Player of the Year at the awards function that was held recently.

The young ladies themselves were challenged by President of the Secondary Schools Cricket League Surujdath Mahabir to help increase participation in the sport.

TT Pro League Charity Shield

After months of delay the TT Pro League kicked off on Friday night with the Charity Shield played between W Connection and defending champions North East Stars.

This year's Charity Shield saw both teams play for a charity of their choice; Connection representing Marabella Family Crisis Centre and North East - Habitat for Humanity.

It was Connection's charity, Marabella Crisis Centre that benefitted as they thumped North East Stars by 7 goals to 1.
