An 18-year-old man drowned at the Moruga Beach on Sunday. He has been identified as Stephan Ramkhelawan of Bois-Jean-Jean Road, Old Moruga Road.
C News understands Ramkhelawan was operating a small fishing vessel when the boat tilted and he fell overboard around 5pm.
Police said persons in the area tried to save him, but their efforts were in vain. They were scouring the waters for his body.
Ramkhelawan had gone to the beach with two other men, but he was the only person on the boat when tragedy struck.
Member of Parliament for Pointe-a-Pierre, David Lee, held a peace march on Saturday morning, in response to what he says is a marked increase in crime in the area.
Two men have been executed in their sleep at an apartment in St. Joseph.
And in a separate incident, Akile “George” Eugene was shot and killed around 8:30 on Friday night at St. Francois Valley Road, Morvant. The 26-year-old man was shot once in the back.
In another separate incident which occurred at 6:30 this morning, Shawn Carlisle Joseph of Lovell Street, Tunapuna was shot. He died while undergoing treatment.
And again in another separate incident, the body of a man was found on on Tacaruge Road, Caura by a passerby. He was bound and gagged.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 24-year-old Marvin Peters of Arima is warded in serious condition at Mt. Hope after being shot in the face and abdomen around 10pm on Friday.

St. Clair Police Officers say he answers to the name Natty Carrington and he is believed to be three years old.
He was picked up at the Nelson Mandela Playpark around 5:30 this evening.
