Agriculture Ministry Celebrates World Environment Day With Schools Tree Planting Programme

In commemoration of World Environment Day, which is celebrated on June 5th each year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries launched its "Schools Tree Planting Programme" with Belmont Secondary chosen to lead the initiative.

The Agriculture Minister said he's quite impressed with the intelligence of young people - it's the adult population he hopes will make a more conscious effort to protect the environment.
