Changing Policy To Address Climate Change

June 5th is World Environmental Day around the world and this year's theme is all about 'Connecting People to Nature.'

In commemoration of the day, the Environmental Management Authority, which is celebrating 22 years of existence, kicked off its series of events with an Open House aimed at reminding citizens of the importance of nature and maintaining connections with it.

In her address, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Planning and Development, Beverly Khan, shared this country's plan to address climate change which has been affecting global environments.

World Environment Day was launched in 1974 and has become a global platform for public outreach on environmental issues.

While over 143 countries participated in observing the day, Ms. Khan also shared this country's plans for renewable energy.
