"Government must do more to reach the at-risk youth in our society." That’s the assertion from Simone De La Bastide, founder of The Children's Ark. Founded in October of 2013, The Children's Ark seeks to improve the lives and living conditions of marginalized children in Trinidad and Tobago, whether underprivileged abused, abandoned, addicted or otherwise challenged. In this installment of I'm Every Woman, she tells of her journey...the highs and lows associated with caring for the at-risk youth in society and even makes recommendations for governments way forward in this regard.
