Looking Ahead To Canboulay Re-enactment

Carnival Friday will see several spectators coming into the capital city in the wee hours of the morning for the Canboulay re-enactment which many consider to be the official beginning of the Carnival celebrations.

Ahead of the event, writer and activist Attillah Springer says it's important to remember the history behind the occasion.

She says it's always exciting to see the crowds coming out each year.

This year's display is dedicated to Dr. Hollis Liverpool, better known as Chalkdust, for the calypsonians's extensive work in the African retentions in the Carnival space.
