The 2010 election campaign for the People's Partnership was partly based on an "Axe the Tax" platform which called for the PNM to end the proposed Property Tax regime.

In 2013, three years after the Partnership administration took office, a new system was introduced. As we head closer to the General Election, Property Tax is expected to play a major role in the campaigns of all parties involved.
