A team of medical officials from the Touching Hands Project is in Trinidad providing free surgeries to citizens. Dr. Scott Hozin, President of the Touching Hands Project, and his team were invited by Dr. Godfrey Araujo, Chair of the Caribbean Health Foundation, to perform the surgeries because of a need for specialty hand surgeries for children at the Princess Elizabeth Centre. However Dr. Araujo is inviting any afflicted citizen to come in for consultation and possibly surgery.
Although the Conference of Defence Ministers of the Americas is scheduled to take place for three days General Secretary Carl Francis defended its cost by saying that its preparation started about two years ago. He also shared that the entire nine million dollars have not been spent.
