MET Deploys New Colour-Friendly Warning System

A new, coloured alert system will send Public Alerts and Warnings to where you are. Everyone automatically gets alerts at the same time through more than one path.

This is the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), an international system that geographically targets Alerts to a defined warning area. At the Met Office, Quality Controller, Haley Anderson, Web Specialist, Jerome Ramirez, and Seasonal Forecaster, Arlene Aaron-Morrison, explain how the Common Alerting Protocol works.
